Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of ICU nursing experience in an acute care hospital
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Active Illinois RN license in good standing
• BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association

ICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver professional, compassionate care to ICU patients using the nursing process
• Perform all duties required in the ICU unit, including critical care procedures
• Implement evidence-based practices for acute and critical care nursing
• Conduct initial patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Accurately document nursing care and collaborate with the healthcare team
• Evaluate and adjust care plans based on patient progress and clinical outcomes
• Promote patient and staff safety by identifying and correcting hazards
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and clinical colleagues
• Support peer development and participate in ongoing nursing education
• Meet all departmental competencies and standards for ICU nursing
