Overview
We are looking for a Commercial Lines Underwriter/Operations Specialist to join our growing team at RPS. This is a full-time fully remote position.
How you'll make an impact
The Underwriter/Operations position is accountable for delivering high quality and efficient service to both internal and external clients through the day-to-day account management of an assigned group of accounts that consistently meets or exceeds CSO benchmark expectations and carrier expectations. This role reports directly into the Assistant Program Manager/Underwriter.
- Contributes to key business outcomes such as client retention, client satisfaction, enhancing AJG's value to our clients and prospects.
- Assist underwriters in servicing and operational management of accounts.
- Underwrites individual insurance applications to cover property and casualty with guidelines set for the issuance of policies on a standard or substandard basis.
- Successfully and profitably manages an assigned group of accounts. Builds and solidifies relationships with existing clients by providing outstanding ongoing care.
- In partnership with the Production team, takes a leadership role in the renewal process, ensuring that the best possible solution is delivered to the client in a high-quality & timely manner.
- Secures existing business and drives the sale of additional services and lines of coverage.
- Nurtures relationships with the buyer in the client organization as well as with day-to-day client representatives and buyers.
- Provide support in servicing and management of accounts.
- Direct team in problem solving, issues resolution, and handles escalations directly when needed
- Work in collaboration with Team Leaders and staff to ensure we are operating within company policies & procedures and any external regulation
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree with 3+ years client service and/or claims management experience -OR- High School degree/GED with 8+ years client service and/or claims management experience.
- Producer's License (P&C).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Preferred:
- Previous insurance knowledge and experience reading and understanding policy language.
- Detail oriented, strong analytical skills.
- Proficient in using technology such as Applied Epic as a tool to improve efficiency and quality.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortably engages others in consultative discussion.
- Effectively manages/balances multiple and sometimes competing priorities.
- Works in a self-directed manner.
