The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) provides anesthesia care across multiple surgical specialties excluding neurological cases. The role involves working primarily weekday shifts with some evening and night options, under medical supervision with a typical staff ratio of one anesthesiologist to 2-3 CRNAs. The position uses the Epic Health Connect EMR system and offers optional on-call availability for locum providers.
- Types of cases: No neuro (heads or spines). Specialties include pediatrics, adult and geriatric for ENT, podiatry, ortho, urology, general surgery, plastics, vascular, cardiology, GYN, robotic, GI, ophthalmology. Locums are generally not required to cover OB unless there is significant background and interest from the locums provider.
- Is there call? Call is not required of locums providers but is available if there is interest.
- Schedule: The need is primarily weekday days for 8-12 hour shifts. However there are also evenings and night shifts.
- How many CRNA s and how many anesthesiologists onsite? The numbers on site vary by site and over the course of the day. The staffing ratios are one MD supervisor to 2-3 CRNAs.
