American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) night shift position requiring a MO or compact RN license and advanced cardiac care skills.
Responsibilities- Work in a short-term acute care hospital's CVICU unit
- Night shifts, 3x12 hours (19:00–7:30), every other weekend required
- Patient ratio is typically 1:2 in the CVICU
- Will float within service line as needed
- Care for critically ill cardiac patients including those with LVADs, impellas, balloon pumps, heart failure, arrhythmias, and post-cardiac arrest conditions
- Uses EPIC EMR; EPIC experience required
- Requires management of ventilators, arterial lines, pulmonary artery and PA/TVP catheters, pacemakers, and vasoactive drips
- No local candidates; must live at least 75 miles from facility
- Magnet and teaching hospital setting with Level I Trauma Center designation
- Navy blue scrubs required
- No on-call responsibilities
- No neuro ICU experience is considered for this role
- Maximum of 5 days (40 hours) of approved time off during contract; no time off during first week of orientation
- Permanent employees must wait one year before returning as a traveler
- Travel assignments are for a minimum of 13 weeks with a preference for 16 weeks
- Travelers can remain up to 18 months with a required 3-month break after 18 months
- Active MO or compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending license accepted
- Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiac/CVICU ICU experience required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Certifications required: BLS and ACLS
- Must pass Relias EKG exam prior to start
- Recent experience with advanced cardiac devices such as LVADs, impellas, and intra-aortic balloon pumps required
- EPIC charting experience required
