The Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit at University of Maryland Saint Joseph Medical Center provides comprehensive care to adult, geriatric, and select adolescent patients. The unit manages a wide range of medical and post-surgical patients, including complex orthopedic, neurological, and general surgical cases. Nurses are expected to have strong telemetry skills, solid clinical judgment, and the ability to manage a patient ratio of up to 1:5. The facility utilizes Epic for documentation and emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration and patient-centered care.
RequirementsLicensure:
Active MD RN License or Compact License – Required (Must be in hand at submission)
Experience:
Minimum 2 years recent MS/Tele experience – Required
Preference for travelers with experience at more than one healthcare facility
Patient Ratio Experience:
Comfortable with 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio – Required
Travel Experience:
Travel experience not required (First-time travelers accepted with strong skills)

Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI)
Pre/Post hemodialysis care
Acute and chronic renal failure management
Orthopedic trauma
Total joint replacements
Peripheral nerve block catheters
Surgical drain management
