American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry Float Pool position requiring a MO or compact license and strong IV/telemetry skills.
Responsibilities- Work in a short term acute care hospital setting
- Float to all medical, surgical, oncology, neuro, renal, and cardiology units as needed
- Care for adult medical/surgical patients, including telemetry
- Typical nurse to patient ratios are 1:5-6 on days and weekends, and 1:6 on nights
- Night shift position, working 3x12 hour shifts from 18:45 to 7:15
- Every other weekend or minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6 weeks are required, plus rotating holidays
- Uses EPIC for charting and documentation; EPIC experience required for certain units
- No on-call required
- Will receive unit assignments up to 1 hour before each shift start if remaining in float pool
- Utilizes lift devices, ceiling lifts, and bladder scanners (training provided)
- No local candidates accepted; must reside outside a 75-mile radius
- Responsible for providing comprehensive care to diverse adult patient populations across several hospital units
- Must be flexible with floating to all specified units within scope
- Block scheduling not available
- Team environment with floating support structure
- Holiday coverage is required as part of the rotation
- Navy blue scrubs are required
- Free parking available on-site
- Travelers may stay for up to 18 months with a required 3-month break after this period
- Testing modules to be completed during orientation
- Active MO or compact RN license required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
- IV start and telemetry skills required
- NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
- EPIC charting experience required for certain units
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Pending license may be accepted for consideration
- Maximum 7 days of requested time off (RTO) allowed per 13 week contract, with no RTO in the first week of orientation
- Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
