American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ER Holding position requiring advanced certifications and strong telemetry and critical care skills.
Responsibilities- Work in the ER Holding unit caring for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
- Unit patient ratio is 1:4
- Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week, 19:00 – 7:30
- Patients present with a variety of acute medical issues requiring advanced monitoring
- Telemetry, PCU/stepdown care, and dysrhythmia management required
- Uses Epic for documentation
- Responsibilities include stepdown-level patient care, blood product administration, wound vac, and renal failure management
- Participation in the Rapid Response Team as needed
- Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers
- All candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after accepting the assignment
- Time off requests must be included at the time of application and built into the contract
- First time travelers are accepted
- No 30-day break required between assignments to change representation except for Sterile Processing Techs
- Active RN license (OH state or compact) in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications required
- Experience with telemetry, dysrhythmia management, rapid response, tracheostomy management, IV insulin and heparin protocols, cardiac and vasoactive drips including titration, and non-invasive airway management (CPAP/BIPAP, oxygen) required
- Proficiency with Epic EMR documentation required
- Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program required
- Two professional references required, with at least one from a supervisor or manager
- Must have been away from the facility for at least 6 months if previously employed at the location
- Current employees at Ohio State University hospitals are not eligible
