Position Title: Maintenance Technician
Wage: $62,400 - $72,800/year
Shift: 1st
Hours: 7:00am - 4:00pm; Some Flexibility Available
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician with a strong mechanical background to join our digital printing and packaging facility in Buffalo Grove, IL. This hands-on position works directly on the production floor, focusing on preventative maintenance, mechanical troubleshooting, and machine building. Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on production equipment to minimize downtime
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems, including drives, bearings, belts, conveyors and other moving components
- Support the installation, setup and commissioning of new and custom-built machinery
- Fabricate and modify parts or machine components as needed to improve equipment performance
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to recommend and implement equipment improvements
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, parts usage and machine history
- Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a safe working environment
Requirements for Maintenance Technician:
- 3+ years of mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing, printing or packaging environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in machine building, fabrication and assembly
- Skilled in use of hand tools, power tools and fabrication equipment (ex. cutting, drilling)
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics and technical manuals
- Familiarity with pneumatic systems
- Familiarity with PLC systems a plus
- Basic understanding of electrical systems is a plus
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently on the production floor
- Willingness to support off-shift or weekend work during machine installations or major repairs
