Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery night shift position requiring a KS or compact license and expertise in maternal and neonatal care.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital Labor & Delivery unit
- Night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week from 19:00 to 07:00
- Required to work every third weekend
- Critical access environment where nurses must quickly integrate after the second shift
- Care for high-risk pregnancies, participate in vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and provide neonatal and postpartum care
- Perform procedures including sterile speculum exams, NST, reflex checks, sterile vaginal exams, and EFM
- Provide comprehensive care throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum stages
- Assist with forceps/vacuum deliveries and newborn care
- Shift expectations require rapid adjustment and autonomous functioning
- Two professional references are required for consideration
Requirements
- Active KS or compact RN license in hand
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NRP
- Experience with external fetal monitoring, IVs, medication administration, pain management, and surgical cases such as cervical cerclage
- Previous charge experience preferred
