American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position serving a diverse patient population and requiring a GA or compact RN license.
Responsibilities- Work in a busy Emergency Department covering patients from neonates to geriatrics
- Level 3 trauma setting in progress, designated as a primary stroke, CHF, STEMI, and chest pain center
- Average patient ratio is 1:4, with 59 rooms and approximately 250 visits per day
- Night shifts are 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:00
- Floating to other units is required
- Uses Epic for EMR, Pyxis medication system, and SBAR communication
- Every other weekend shift required
- No on-call responsibilities
- First-time travelers are accepted for this assignment
- Scrubs must be navy blue
- Holiday coverage expectations are based on the number of major holidays within the assignment period
- Maximum of 7 days of requested time off (RTO), with no RTO allowed during the first week
- No blocked scheduling is permitted
- Travel pairs are not allowed to be assigned the same shift on the same unit
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
- Full compliance is necessary to start on time due to a bi-weekly orientation schedule
- Active GA or compact RN license required
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH certifications required
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume emergency setting
- Must provide two supervisory references from a manager or higher
- Compliance with all onboarding and orientation requirements is mandatory
- Perm/PRN employees must be away from Piedmont facilities for at least one year to be eligible as a traveler
- Return travelers unable to return to a facility must complete a successful external assignment before re-applying
