Provides hands-on care and monitoring for patients undergoing cardiac and vascular invasive procedures in cath/EP labs, collaborating with physicians and clinical teams to implement and evaluate care per policies. Requires graduation from an accredited clinical program (e.g., RN, RTR, RRT, RCIS/RCES, CVT, VI, or EMT‑P), relevant acute or specialty experience, and state licensure/certification with obligations to obtain RCIS/RCES within 24 months if not already credentialed. Must complete department competency validation and annual cardiac dysrhythmia testing.
Provides care to patients undergoing cardiac and vascular procedures. Collaborates with physicians and other team members to assess, implement and evaluate patient care in accordance with current policies and procedures.
What We're Looking For:- Education: Graduate from one of the following Accredited Education Programs required: • Registered Nurse (RN) • Registered Radiology Technology (RTR) • Registered Respiratory Therapy (RRT) • Registered Cardiac Invasive Specialist (RCIS) • Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) • Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic (EMT-P) • Cardiovascular Tech (CVT) • Vascular Intervention (VI), required.
- Experience:
- If RN, one (1) year of Critical Care, Emergency Services, Cath/EP Lab, or Special Procedures experience, required.
- If EMT-P, two (2) years of acute care hospital experience, required.
- If RTR, RRT, RCIS, RCES, CVT or VI one (1) year of experience, preferred.
- Licensure/Certification: Registered Nurse (RN)-North Carolina Board of Nursing License Registered Radiology Technologist (RTR) -ARRT Radiology OR Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMT-P) credentialing/accreditation and/or Paramedic associate degree from an appropriately recognized Paramedic program. Or Technologist Registry OR Respiratory Therapist-licensed by the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board (NCRCB) AND Credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) as RRT. OR Registered Cardiac Invasive Specialist, Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist, Cardiovascular Tech, and Vascular Intervention-graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Program. If the Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (CIS) is not a RN, RTR with CI or VI certification, he/she must obtain their Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) within 24 months of hire for continued employment, required.
- Additional Skills Required:
- Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skill validation and competency testing.
- Pass yearly Cardiac Dysrhythmias Test.
