Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an outpatient position with at least one year of experience and a current IL license.
Responsibilities
- Outpatient physical therapy setting in an acute care, Level II Trauma hospital
- Day shift options include 4x10s (8:00-18:30) or 5x8s (8:00-16:30)
- No weekend shifts required unless desired by clinician
- Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed
- Cerner EMR system is used for documentation; prior experience preferred but not required
- No on-call requirement
- Main duties include assessment, treatment planning, and outpatient rehabilitation for diverse patient populations
- Up to five days of non-holiday time off will be auto-approved; more requires facility approval
- Team-based environment within a 372-bed acute care facility
- Non-billable orientation modules completed virtually on the first day
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Parking permit is provided at no cost; to be coordinated during orientation
- Former staff must have a 12-month break in service before returning as a traveler
Requirements
- Valid state of Illinois PT license required; license required if applicable
- Current BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross required (RQI cards not accepted)
- Minimum one year of recent outpatient physical therapy experience required
- Must arrive three business days prior to start for fingerprints if not licensed in Illinois
- Demonstrated ability to float as needed within scope
- Must be able to work 2 out of 3 major holidays if assignment covers those dates
- Royal blue scrubs required
