Jan 2026 Grad Nurses Welcome! Why Mercy Labor & Birth? Located on the 1st, 6th, and 7th floors of the Children’s Tower, our Labor & Birth team provides exceptional care for mothers and babies—from low-risk deliveries to high-risk antenatal care. Our Labor and Birth nurses work with all levels of acuity and learn valuable nursing techniques. Our units include L&B, OB ED, and High-Risk areas, staffed 24/7 with: Board-Certified OB Hospitalists
OB Anesthesia
Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists
Highly skilled nursing and surgical teams
Structured Mentor program Nurse-to-patient ratios: Labor & Birth: 1:2
High Risk: 1:1 (based on acuity) Nurse Residency Program for New Grads A dynamic program combining: Simulation-based training
Classroom lectures by clinical educators
Hands-on preceptorship on the unit
Gain confidence, critical skills, and a strong foundation for your nursing career in a supportive environment! After the residency is completed, all new RN's are paired with a Mentor-we want to help you reach your potential!
Position Details: Qualifications:
Experience: 1+ year Labor & Birth RN experience (or new grad for residency)
Education: Nursing degree from an accredited school
License: Current RN license in hiring state or compact license
Certifications: BLS (AHA), NRP, ACLS (Labor RNs will receive Intermediate Fetal Heart Rate training)
National certifications (RNC-OB, C-EFM) encouraged
