The Chief of Orthopedic Surgery will provide leadership and administration over the Department of Orthopedic Surgery across multiple hospitals and practices, promoting collaboration, accountability, and outcomes-focused care. This role involves leading clinical, academic, and research activities, ensuring quality, safety, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is board-certified, experienced in academic or complex medical environments, and committed to fostering diversity and continuous improvement within the department.
Seeking a Chief of Orthopedic Surgery Provide leadership and administration for all components of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery across all three hospitals and within the Medical Groups orthopedic practices. Promote purposeful collaboration, outcomes-focused care, and an environment of accountability and teamwork both within the Department and between/among other Departments in all aspects of academic and clinical functions. Serve as a role model and advocate of the cultural values of the Department and Health System. Act collaboratively to ensure decisions that provide the greatest benefits to the populations served and overall organization. Lead clinical, academic, and research activities within Orthopedics. Foster continuous improvement of quality of care, outcomes, safety, and best evidence-based medicine practice across the continuum of care, while safeguarding operational efficiency. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and accreditation requirements Have knowledge of current health care trends and initiatives as they apply to service offerings and functions as a visible medical leader between Administration, Hospital Staff, and the Department members. $750k - $1.1m based on experience, plus additional incentive bonus compensation Flexible Spending Account (FSA) 403(b) Retirement plan and 457(b) Deferred compensation plan Annual paid time off Medical liability insurance with tail coverage CME allowances Life insurance Required: Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery, 7-10 years of administrative and clinical leadership experience, Experience in an academic medical center or in a complex teaching environment, Experience with cultivating an environment of diversity, quality, teamwork, and continued growth and improvement, Academic and research distinction, with national/international presence. Previous chair experience preferred, but emerging leader with appropriate experience will be considered
