How you'll make an impact
- Reconciles insurance carrier statements to internal accounting records; identifies discrepancies between the two.
- Researches and resolves billing discrepancies with internal customer service representatives or contacts at the insurance company.
- Processes carrier payable checks within required due dates, ensuring funds are not advanced to the carriers until Agency has been paid first without proper approval.
- Data entry of direct bill production into accounting system according to company procedures.
- Compiles and sorts documents, such as invoices and checks, and routes invoices to the appropriate individual for review and approval and processing.
- Assists with the filing of accounting support documentation in a timely manner.
- Prepares monthly close journal entries for various outside agencies for their data migration.
- Assists with month end close.
- Follows company procedures with respect to all essential duties and responsibilities of the job.
About You
- Required: High school diploma and 5 years related experience. Well developed understanding of bookkeeping/accounting principals. Proficient in Microsoft Suite of Office Products. Advanced Microsoft Excel expertise. Solid background in the use of technology, particularly applications specific to department/area. Excellent communication skills written and oral.
- Preferred: Bachelors degree desirable. Knowledgeable in using various analytical approaches to problem solving. Work history in some sector of the insurance industry.
- Behaviors: Highly developed attention to detail, organizational and follow up capabilities. High degree of business technology awareness and its applications to workplace efficiencies. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Effectively handle large, long-term projects as well as manage the details associated with everyday tasks. Team-oriented.

The actual compensation will be influenced by a wide range of factors including, but not limited to previous experience, education, pay market/geography, complexity or scope, specialized skill set, lines of business/practice area, supply/demand, and scheduled hours.
