The General Utility worker is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization in event, venue, and office spaces, including setup, breakdown, and sanitation tasks. This role supports event operations by handling equipment, supplies, trash removal, and responding to immediate issues to ensure safe and presentable environments. Candidates must have physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions efficiently.
General Utility

General Utility workers are responsible for the appearance and organization of designated areas, including the cleanliness of dishes, serveware, equipment, and more. Successful candidates demonstrate a can-do attitude, take direction well, and are willing to learn new tasks.
Position Overview
Support setting up, breaking down, and maintaining event, venue, and office spaces to ensure smooth operations during events. Provide general labor and event-specific maintenance to keep spaces organized, safe, and presentable.
Responsibilities
- Event Set-Up: Assist with arrangement and set-up of event spaces, including layout of furniture, tables, and equipment per specifications.
- Event Support: Monitor and maintain cleanliness during events—remove trash, restock restrooms, and keep event areas clean.
- Breakdown & Clean-Up: Take down equipment, furniture, and décor after events and help return the venue to its original state.
- Supplies & Inventory: Ensure required supplies (linens, serveware, cleaning supplies) are available and coordinate with organizers.
- Trash Removal & Waste Management: Remove garbage and recycling regularly to maintain cleanliness and hygiene.
- Kitchen Assistance: Transport food and beverage items from prep areas to event spaces as needed.
- Emergency Support: Respond quickly to spills, accidents, or other issues that arise during events.
Requirements
- Previous work experience in a similar back-of-house or utility role.
- Understanding of basic sanitation procedures.
- Ability to follow instructions and assist with a variety of tasks as needed.
- Strong attention to detail and effective time-management skills.
- Physical ability to regularly lift/carry heavy equipment and stand for long periods.
- Ability to track, organize, and clean in-house or rental equipment.
