A Cardiothoracic Surgeon practicing adult heart and lung surgery in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Responsibilities include delivering high-quality clinical care, participating in research, quality improvement initiatives, and educational mentorship. They are also involved in clinical trials and departmental committees to enhance patient safety and treatment outcomes.
Join a well-established Cardiothoracic Surgery service line as a full-time Cardiothoracic Surgeon. This is an employed position through a major academic division, located in Columbus, Georgia approximately 90 miles southwest of Atlanta.
The selected candidate will practice adult cardiothoracic surgery within an active inpatient and outpatient setting. Responsibilities include providing exceptional clinical care, contributing to ongoing quality improvement and patient safety initiatives, and supporting clinical trials and innovations in adult cardiac surgery.
Additional duties involve participating in committees, peer review processes, morbidity and mortality conferences, and managing patient workups and procedures in accordance with departmental standards. The role also includes engagement in clinical research and quality initiatives, along with the education and mentorship of medical students, residents, fellows, and rotating learners.
Minimum Qualifications:
Board-eligible or board-certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery
Unrestricted medical license to practice in the State of Georgia
Current DEA certificate for controlled substances
