Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking a Board Certified Anesthesiologist for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity in Sylva, North Carolina. This well-supported, highly structured anesthesia program offers consistent coverage needs, predictable scheduling, diverse case exposure, and a collaborative MD/CRNA care team model.

Assignment Snapshot

Shift Structure:- Days + Call Required
- MD Scheduling Model:
- MD #1: 7:00a – 5:00p
- MD #2: 7:00a – 1:00p
- MD #3: 5:00p – 7:00a (Call)
Call Structure:- MD is 1st Call
- CRNA serves as backup call
- Travel: Full travel & lodging included
- EMR: Meditech
Clinical Scope & Case Mix- Case Types Include:
- General Surgery
- Orthopedics
- Urology
- Endoscopy
- Obstetrics (400 deliveries/year; ~136 after 6 pm
- Regional Anesthesia: Yes — proficiency required (Spinals, Epidurals, Blocks)
- OB/Epidurals: MD performs labor epidurals (especially after 6pm)
Model: - 3 Anesthesiologists
- 7 CRNAs
- Combination of supervising & doing own cases depending on shift
Candidate Requirements- Board Certified (ABA)
- Active & Unrestricted NC Medical License (clean file for quick temps)
- Proficiency in regional blocks & OB anesthesia
- Ability to cover days + call
- Comfortable in a mixed supervision/solo model
