RN - Observation Unit
Job Details:
• Provide nursing care for patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex under general supervision
• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients
• Two (2) years of inpatient experience required
• NOT open to ER candidates
• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
• Assist physicians in examination of patients and minor diagnostic procedures
• Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients
• Administer medications as prescribed
• Initiate, regulate and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products
• Interact with family and patients regarding care plans during hospitalization and at discharge
• Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel
• Delegate tasks to support staff
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
• Required certifications: Current RN License issued by Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or multistate compact RN License (eNLC), current Basic Life Support (AHA), ACLS (American Heart Association)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required
• Computer skills and ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients
