Family Practice/Primary Care Nurse Practitioners provide interview-based medical exams, including physical assessments such as range of motion and muscle strength testing, primarily for veterans in leased facilities or their own offices on a PRN basis. They conduct non-treatment compensation and pension exams focused on general medicine, orthopedic surgery, internal medicine, and musculoskeletal health without prescribing or treatment responsibilities. This role requires certification, proficiency in METs testing, and familiarity with diabetes, cardiovascular, respiratory, and neurological conditions.

Must be within 50 miles
Provider s own office locations- Providers required to have their own office
- Ithaca- 4 days per week needed
- Trumansburg- 3 days per week needed
- Watertown- 2 days per week needed
1099 compensation:
-$350 for half day (4 hours)
-$800 for full day (8 hours)
-$650 for completing all required training and starting assignment
Willing to accept these specialties:
- Family medicine

- Anyone with a background in general medicine, or experience with compensation and pension.

- Two (2) options for coverage - Travel and perform exams at VES leased facility and/or schedule Veterans within your own practice
- Option to work days(4-hours) and/or full days(8-hours)
- One-Time non-treatment C&P exams + separation health assessments
- Exams are primarily interview-based with some physical assessment: range of motion testing, muscle strength testing.
- No prescribing, no treatment
- Quick credentialing & onboarding
- DMA certification available (can get CME credits) will need to obtain once privileged if not already certified
- Use of Goniometer required
- Familiar with Musculoskeletal, Diabetes, and Cardio required
- Proficient in METs testing, evaluating and diagnosing respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions.
- Own personal laptop (NO MACs)
The provider will need to complete their DMA training.
