The PICU Nurse Practitioner provides advanced nursing care for critically ill pediatric patients in a 24/7 coverage model, including variable shifts and in-house night calls. Responsibilities include managing 6-8 patients, performing specialized procedures such as arterial line and central venous line placement, chest tube and PICC placement, endotracheal intubation, and lumbar puncture. The role requires proficiency with the Epic electronic medical record system and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team for continuous care delivery.
Dates needed: ASAP ongoing
• Schedule: Ideal locum candidates can provide at least 4-6 shifts per 4-week block;
o Variable days, evenings, nights, & weekends as part of a 24/7/365 coverage model
o Weekend, Night, and Holiday work is shared equally among all team members
o 12-hour Days/Nights (, )
• Call: In-house night call responsibilities are shared among all team members who have completed orientation to nights.
• PICU: 6-8 patients during the day; night call includes all patients assigned to team at checkout as well as any new admission assigned to the team.
