Position Overview Profession: Physician Specialty: Anesthesiology Start Date: ASAP - Ongoing Duration: Ongoing Shift Type: 24-Hour Emergency/Temp Privileges: No Default Rate Type: On Call (Daily) Shift and Call Details Shift Description: Weekdays: Monday - Friday, 6 AM - 3 PM, with occasional weekday call from 3 PM - 6 AM. Hours may vary based on department needs. Weekend Requirements: Possible weekend call. On Call Requirements: Call Ratio: 1:5 Call Schedule: 1st Call: Provider can go home once all cases are completed and will return only if necessary. 2nd Call: Provider stays late and serves as backup. Schedule and Coverage Monday - Friday: 1 MDA on vacation per week (except for two weeks annually). 1 MDA on post-call duty daily. 1 MDA on call daily. 1 MDA on day shift only. 1 MDA on second call daily. Weekends: 1 MDA on 1st Call Saturday and 2nd Call Sunday. 1 MDA on 2nd Call Saturday and 1st Call Sunday. Other MDAs have the weekend off. EMR System: Cerner PowerChart Average Surgical Cases Per Day: 13 Supervision Requirement: The locum tenens physician will supervise CRNAs, with the work being almost 100% supervision. The CRNAs are highly experienced and work collaboratively with anesthesiologists. Number of Operating Rooms: 12 Annual ER Volume: Approximately 25,000 visits Patient Demographics: Primarily adult/geriatric; no complicated adolescent or pediatric cases.
