American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) position with strong telemetry and ventilation skills and a valid IN or compact RN license.
Responsibilities- Work in a 23-bed pediatric cardiovascular ICU in a hospital setting
- Cares for complex cardiac patients, including VAD and heart transplant cases
- Shift options: 3x12 or 4x12 hour nights, with 19:00–07:00 hours and every other weekend requirement
- Float required to the cardiac stepdown unit and PICU
- Staffing ratios range from 1:1 to 1:2
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Duties include monitoring and managing pediatric cardiac ICU patients, supporting VAD and transplant cases
- Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team within a high-acuity environment
- Training offered for experienced PICU nurses transitioning to CVPICU
- RTO policy allows for up to 5 days of auto-approved time off
- Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays during contract
- Not accepting local candidates for ICU positions
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Travelers expected to float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals
- Active IN or compact RN license in hand at time of start
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant RN experience, with at least 18 months in a pediatric or ICU setting
- BLS and PALS certifications required (AHA and RQI accepted and must be current)
- Experience with telemetry and ventilator management required
- Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Must not have been employed as a permanent or PRN IU employee within the past 12 months
