We prioritize the well-being of our patients and neighbors, ensuring they receive compassionate and timely emergency care. Position Overview The Emergency Department (ED) Physician provides high-quality, timely, and compassionate care to all patients presenting with acute medical conditions. As the first point of contact for individuals in need of emergent care, the ED physician plays a critical role in patient assessment, stabilization, treatment, and coordination of further care. Reports directly to the Medical Director of the ED Administrative oversight by the VP of Patient Care Services Works collaboratively with the medical staff and healthcare team Compensation & Benefits Base salary: - $200/hour (day shift) - $236/hour (night shift) Sign-on bonus Paid relocation Full malpractice coverage Health, dental, and vision insurance Life insurance Retirement: - 403(b) plan with match (100% vested) - 457(b) tax-deferred plan CME allowance: $3,500 annually Annual performance bonus: Up to $10,000 based on quality improvement projects Short- and long-term disability Educational loan repayment available Key Responsibilities Assess, stabilize, and treat patients with minor and critical conditions Perform minor procedures and administer medications Request consults and coordinate admissions to Hospital or transfers to higher-level facilities Ensure timely and thorough documentation of patient records Adapt to the unique challenges of rural emergency medicine Collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver comprehensive emergency services Schedule 12 shifts per month - 4 shifts (7 AM - 7 PM) - 4 shifts (10 AM - 9 PM) - Up to 4 shifts (7 PM - 7 AM) Flexible scheduling available for vacation months Requirements Board Eligible or Board Certified (BE/BC) in Emergency Medicine - Physicians with significant ER experience considered on a case-by-case basis Vermont medical license (or eligibility) Current BLS, ACLS, and ATLS certifications (or Board Certification in Emergency Medicine)
