Seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist for a full block locum tenens assignment in a highly equipped endoscopy unit, offering inpatient and outpatient procedural care. The role includes managing procedures such as EGD, colonoscopy, ERCP, and others with robust support, modern equipment, and scheduled call responsibilities. Travel and lodging expenses are covered, requiring board certification and an active medical license with additional life support certifications.
Assignment Details:
Dates: September 23 (orientation) October 1, 2025
Schedule: Monday Friday, 9-hour shift with 1-hour lunch
Call: 15-hour overnight call during weekdays, 24-hour weekend call
Setting: Inpatient & Outpatient GI, hospital/procedures + call
Volume: Average of 12 patients per day for procedures
Credentialing: 60 days
EMR: Athena, Cerner, Paragon, EndoPro
Procedures:
EGD (with biopsy, foreign body removal, bleeder cautery, varices injection)
Colonoscopy (with biopsy, polyp excision)
ERCP (diagnostic & therapeutic) preferred
EUS preferred
PEG/PEG-J placement, sigmoidoscopy, manometry, pH studies, capsule endoscopy
Equipment: 4 Endo Suites, Olympus scopes, propofol anesthesia
Travel & Lodging: Covered; nearest major airport and lodging recommendations provided
Requirements:
Board Certification in Gastroenterology
Active MI medical license
BLS, ACLS, ABLS, ATLS certifications
Ability to work entire block (no partial coverage)
