Position Summary/Department Summary:
Full time social work position (30 hours) to provide a wide range of clinical social work services to children, adolescents, and families in Hematology inpatient and small outpatient cohort in the transfusion center

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing crisis intervention, psychosocial assessment, counseling, complex resource coordination, and psychosocial consultation to the medical team.
  • Participating in program development with Hematology multidisciplinary team to create and enhance patient/family psychoeducation, developmentally appropriate interventions and continuity of care efforts.
  • Provide behavioral interventions and strategies for enhancing coping
  • Collaborative practice with relevant community partners
Minimum Qualifications

Education:
  • Master’s degree in social work, LCSW required, LICSW preferred
Experience:
  • Experience in health care environment essential with inpatient medical social work experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of child protection system helpful.
  • Spanish language skills strongly preferred.
  • Cultural competency working with diverse population
  • Flexibility and ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic environment.

The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
