American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with Level I trauma experience and BLS certification for a day shift position.
Responsibilities- Work in a short-term acute care hospital in the Operating Room (Core 3 & 4 units)
- Handles cases in general, plastics, GYN, ENT, trauma, neuro and ortho, GU, and colorectal robotics
- Average daily census is 70-80 with 21 operating rooms
- Schedule: 3x12 hour day shifts from 7:00 to 19:30
- Required to be on-call for 6 shifts within a 6-week period, which can vary
- Floating may be required within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals as needed
- Uses Cerner EMR; Cerner experience required
- Scrub attire is provided
- Responsible for circulating various surgical cases except CV and transplant
- Candidates must be able to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates from Indiana are accepted for this position
- Auto-approval for up to 5 days of requested time off (RTO)
- Free parking is available onsite
- All travelers may be floated according to hospital needs, but OR and perioperative nurses are exempt from policy changes restricting IN residents
- Active IN or compact RN license, or temporary license at start
- Minimum of 3 years of OR RN experience, including at least 1 year in a Level I trauma setting
- BLS certification required (AHA or RQI accepted and current)
- Ability to circulate is required; scrub experience preferred
- Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Returning employees must be separated for at least 12 months before consideration
