The Registered Nurse – Psychiatric Emergency Department delivers safe, patient-centered nursing care to adults and adolescents experiencing psychiatric or behavioral health emergencies. Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to psychiatric patients in an emergency setting
- Assess and monitor patient behavior, mood, and safety while maintaining therapeutic boundaries
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement treatment and safety plans
- Administer medications and monitor effects per physician orders
- Educate patients and families on care plans and community resources
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards

Qualifications
- Education: Associate’s degree in Nursing required; RN Diploma with relevant experience accepted; BSN preferred
- Licensure: Current Maryland Registered Nurse License
- Certification:BLS – American Heart Association required
- Experience: Prior experience in psychiatric, behavioral health, emergency, or critical care preferred
