Controller (Hybrid) – Architectural / Engineering / Construction
Location: New York City, NY
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Our client, a highly regarded architectural and engineering firm, is seeking a temporary Controller to oversee the accounting function and serve as a key financial partner within the organization. About the Role:
We’re seeking a hands-on accounting professional who values collaboration, transparency, and an open-door leadership culture. The Controller will manage the day-to-day accounting operations, produce accurate financial statements, and partner closely with the firm’s external CPA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of accounting, including accounts payable and receivable
- AIA G702 and G703 functions
- Prepare and send invoices; follow up on outstanding balances
- Handle payroll processing, including 1099 preparation
- Perform bank reconciliations and journal entries
- Prepare flash reports, profit & loss statements, and monthly financial statements in QuickBooks
- Partner with leadership and external CPA on financial strategy and reporting
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel proficiency required
- Industry experience within architecture, engineering, or construction required
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills
