Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a SC or compact license, 3 years of L&D experience, and BLS and NRP certifications.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Labor and Delivery department of a hospital setting
- Care for laboring mothers and newborns, including fetal monitoring and circulating for cesarean sections
- Perform vaginal exams, Pitocin and magnesium drip titrations, and neonatal resuscitation
- Call required up to two 12-hour shifts per month
- Floating to assist in similar units as needed
- Foster a caring and respectful environment for patients and families
- Expected to precept and mentor novice employees
- Participate in nursing quality indicators and evidence-based practice initiatives
- Must use appropriate health and safety equipment
- Ongoing professional growth and participation in educational offerings encouraged
Requirements
- Active SC or compact RN license
- Minimum of 3 years of recent L&D nursing experience
- Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current AHA Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Fetal monitoring interpretation, vaginal exam, and medication titration skills required
