MRI Technologist
ScheduleEvenings, Monday through Thursday, from 1:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with backup on-call requirement for 12-hour weekends every 5th week (used for call-off).
Job DescriptionThe MRI Technologist performs imaging procedures at a technical level, meeting the qualifications to provide care for patients in the specific age range of their assigned clinical area. This role includes a thorough understanding of the Magnetic Resonance imaging process and safety standards within the Magnetic Resonance environment.
Responsibilities- Provides protection to patients and personnel in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
- Prepares and positions patients for magnetic resonance procedures, explaining exams and addressing patient questions.
- Performs Magnetic Resonance Imaging procedures, including neuro, body, and extremity, following radiologist-set protocols.
- Conducts venous access on patients requiring IV contrast administration as directed by a radiologist.
- Enters necessary data into Radiology Imaging System, IDX Imaging Suite, and Picture Archive Communication System.
- Processes images as needed and identifies anatomy on images.
- Performs quality control tests of equipment and reports irregularities.
- Notifies team leader and maintenance personnel of equipment malfunctions.
- Orders supplies and maintains appropriate supply levels.
- Acts as a liaison, providing radiological support to physicians as requested.
- Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology.
- Basic Life Support Certification from the default issuing body.
- Certified MRI Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Certified Radiology Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
