The Machine Operator - Tray Denester operates and maintains production equipment to ensure efficient tray denesting and conveyor belt operation in a food manufacturing environment. The role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and adherence to safety and GMP standards, including LOTO certification. Candidates should have at least a high school diploma and some production experience, with the ability to perform physically demanding tasks and handle various food products.
Essential Job Functions:
Ability to work the scheduled/assigned times and required overtime for position
Regular attendance to ensure shipping requirements are met
Ability to read, write, communicate, and comprehend written instructions in English
Ability to move up to 40 lbs.
Effective communication skills, ability to work with others to drive issues to resolution.
Excellent attention to detail
Job Duties:
Obtain daily schedule and supplies needed for production
Complete required paperwork in a timely manner (e.g., centerline, CI inspections, minor stop tracking, etc.)
Perform safety check on equipment being used to ensure it is functioning properly
Monitor and maintain effective and efficient operation of equipment
Ensure production line conveyor belts are efficiently operating
Fill tray denester with appropriate trays for production run
Verify tray sizes to ensure accuracy
Clear minor jams, reset and start equipment as needed
Ensure good housekeeping (e.g., sweeping, mopping, etc.)
Participate in PM, drumbeat, and AM activities as assigned
May perform general labor duties as assigned
May perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Ability to understand the effects of product damage and loss
Ability to solve problems independently
Ability to identify defects and drive problems to resolution through CAPD (Check, Act, Plan, Do) process
Ability to work individually as well as with others as a team at all levels
Knowledge of GMP’s
Ability to be LOTO (Lockout Tagout) certified
Knowledge of normal/routine
Ability to work with pork, chicken, beef, and shellfish products in addition to many other ingredients and allergens
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
Experience Required: Minimum 3 months of production or related experience preferred.
