The Charge Nurse at the Family Care Center coordinates quality nursing care focused on postpartum patients and newborns, providing both clinical support and staff guidance. This role involves educating mothers on breastfeeding, newborn care, and postpartum recovery within a multidisciplinary team. The position requires nursing licensure and experience, emphasizing compassionate and collaborative patient care in a hospital setting.
Its Time to GetBetter! Piedmont Eastside Medical is 310- bed multi-campus facility, serving Gwinnett and surrounding counties. The Family Care Center which provides couplet care are making a difference in every life they touch. This 17- bed unit focuses on post-partum care, monitoring, and education.
Education and Support The unit offers lactation consult support, educating mother on breastfeeding techniques, newborn care, and postpartum recovery.
Staffed with RNs, Charge Nurses, and PCTs that create a very compassionate and collaborative team
Responsibilities: Coordinates the delivery of quality nursing care for patients from birth through the lifecycle, as well as operational issues during his/her shift. Provides clinical care as needed when census demands. Communicates patient care, departmental issues, and staff concerns to the appropriate leader(s). Serves as resource for guidance and assistance to the staff. Qualifications:Education
- Graduate from a nursing program Required
- Bachelors Degree Preferred
Work Experience
- 1 year of nursing experience in a hospital setting Required
- 2 years or more years of nursing experience in a hospital setting Preferred
Licenses and Certifications
- RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure Required
- BCLS - Basic Life Support Required
- NRP by the end of orientation period (Womens Services: Labor and Delivery, Mother/Baby, NICU, NAT, Nursery) Required
