This position is a Registered Nurse residency program at Mercy St Louis Hospital focused on the Operating Room, providing comprehensive training in various surgical specialties including robotics. The program combines classroom, online, and hands-on learning over five months with an additional mentorship period, aimed at both new graduates and experienced nurses. The role emphasizes compassionate patient care, professional accountability, and collaboration within a Level 1 Trauma and Burn Center setting.

Overview:Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Who We Are:
The Main Operating Room is a Level 1 Trauma Center and Burn Center, providing surgical care to patients of all ages, including pediatrics. We have 27 Operating Rooms with 7 specialty teams, including general surgery, gynecologic surgery, urologic surgery, robotics, ENT, orthopedic surgery, and neurosurgery. We have 4 state-of-the-art robots at Mercy. We offer comprehensive training to include all service lines. Our training for nurses includes orientation to both the circulating and scrub roles at Mercy. Our Residency for nurses without Operating Room Experience offers classroom didactics, online modules, and hands-on practice to support all learning styles during orientation.
Residency program is 5 months with one month mentorship. After residency, RN moves into a mentorship which is specialty training for their new service line.
Proposed Schedule: Three 12s, Four 10s or Five 8s (Days)

Qualifications:
- Required Education: Nursing Degree from an accredited school
- License: current RN license in the state of Missouri.
- Certifications: BLS required.
