Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a night shift contract in Hawaii, requiring an active HI RN license, 2-10 years of experience, and BLS/ACLS certifications.
Responsibilities
- Hospital medical unit setting with a 77-bed capacity
- Adult med-surg patient population with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:8 on nights
- Night shifts with a 13-week contract, scheduled for 36 hours per week after orientation
- Flexibility required for various shift lengths and days with no guarantee of specific shifts
- May float to Laulima Unit and Cardiovascular Unit as needed
- Uses Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vacs, and chest tube equipment
- General med-surg nursing duties and care for adult patients
- All travelers must report to Employee Health 48-72 hours prior to assignment start
- Professional nursing attire is required
- Orientation is provided for each unit assignment
- Plan to be in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start to complete health clearance
- May be required to provide coverage in related medical units if needed
- No COVID-19 vaccination required for this role
Requirements
- Active HI RN license required by start date
- Minimum 2 years of adult med-surg nursing experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Experience using Meditech and related unit equipment preferred
- Proof of flu vaccination or approved exception required prior to contract start
