Inpatient Psychiatrist Locums Job Upstate New York Flexible Coverage
An established inpatient behavioral health program in New York is seeking a Psychiatrist for ongoing coverage, with potential for longer-term assignments. This opportunity is seeking a Psychiatrist with a flexible schedule to cover on short notice, for weeks or potentially months at a time.
Position Highlights
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:00 PM
One weekend per month
One night call per week
Setting: Inpatient psychiatry
Coverage: Adult and Child/Adolescent units
Call: Inpatient and ED coverage
Patient Volume & Workload
Adult Unit: 28-bed inpatient unit with an Average daily census: 24
Child/Adolescent Unit: 12-bed inpatient unit, Average daily census: 10
Daily Patient Load total: Approximately 10-12 patients per day
Visit Time: Follow-ups and new evaluations scheduled as clinically appropriate
Support Structure
Dedicated Nurse Practitioner support on each unit
Collaborative, physician-friendly care team
Requirements
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
Adult & Child/Adolescent certification preferred but not required
Active New York license
New York Medicaid enrollment required prior to start
