Opportunity:
Registered Nurse - PCU
Job Details:
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required with previous charge experience
• Must be flexible with weekend requirements - able to work 50% of weekends in contract
• Patient ratios of 1:3-4 (rarely 1:5 during emergencies)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS
• Must have proficient neuro experience and management of drips
• Preferred skills: conscious sedation and Level 1 trauma experience
• Floating required to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) at University and Methodist Hospitals
• May be assigned charge nurse responsibilities with provided training
• Must agree to possibility of precepting and/or having students shadow during assignment
• Care for patients with CVAs, hydrocephalus, brain tumors and resections, seizures, TBIs, trauma cases, GI surgeries, and large wound care
• Must be proficient in arterial line management, blood product administration, ventilated patient care, central line management, chest tubes, feeding tube care, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, lumbar drains, and cardiac drip titration
• Call-in policy requires making up missed shifts during pay period or adding to end of contract
• First time travelers accepted
• 24-bed unit treating adults and geriatrics
