The Obstetrics & Gynecology Physician provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient OB/GYN care, including deliveries, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment planning. They work scheduled shifts with 24/7 call coverage to ensure continuous hospital and clinic services. Their role includes collaboration with healthcare teams, documentation compliance, and participation in quality improvement initiatives.
Schedule & Shifts
- Shift Type: 24-hour shifts
- Shift Hours: 7:00 AM 7:00 AM
- Call Coverage: 24/7 call while covering the facility
- Clinic Schedule: Monday Friday clinic; lighter clinic schedule when on call
- Days per Month: As needed and agreed upon
- Weekday Coverage: Monday Friday as needed
- Coverage Needed: February 5 8, May 7 8, June 4 11, August 1 2 and August , October 6 11, November
Scope of Work
- Inpatient and outpatient OB/GYN services
- Hospital and clinic coverage
- Overnight and 24-hour call coverage as scheduled
Qualifications
- MD or DO
- Completion of an ACGME- or AOA-accredited OB/GYN residency
- Board certified or board eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology
- Eligible for unrestricted Federal DEA registration
- Required life safety certifications (BLS, ACLS, NRP, etc.; must be completed in person)
- Ability to meet privileging and credentialing requirements
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive OB/GYN patient assessments and develop appropriate treatment plans
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and exams
- Provide obstetric deliveries and gynecologic care within approved scope of practice
- Document clinical care accurately and in compliance with regulatory standards
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and ancillary teams
- Participate in patient and family education to support continuity of care
- Communicate clinical information clearly and timely to ensure quality outcomes
- Participate in quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives as applicable
