As part of Piedmont Healthcare s growing academic strategy, this new Internal Medicine Residency Program will be a cornerstone of physician workforce development across Georgia.
Position Overview
As the Founding Program Director, you will lead the design, accreditation, and launch of a new Internal Medicine Residency Program. You will build a culture of academic excellence, equity, and patient-centered care while maintaining clinical practice as a role model for trainees.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and oversee implementation of the program curriculum and evaluation systems
- Lead recruitment and development of faculty and residents
- Ensure ongoing compliance with ACGME standards
- Foster a culture of professionalism, scholarship, and resident wellness
- Maintain a clinical role in internal medicine
- Collaborate with system leaders to grow future fellowships
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Board Certification in Internal Medicine
- Eligibility for unrestricted Georgia medical license
- Minimum of three years of GME experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing or expanding residency programs
- Strong knowledge of ACGME accreditation and site visit process
- Interest in DEI, faculty mentorship, and scholarly innovation
