Job Details:

• Work 4x12 hour day shifts
• Every other weekend schedule required
• Patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7 for medical surgical patients
• Must have New York license in hand - no exceptions
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Must be located 75+ miles from facility (local restriction)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale
• EPIC charting experience is a hard requirement
• Floating to other units required
• First time travelers accepted
• Scrub color requirement: any combination of navy and white
• Provide care for acute stroke patients and other neurological disorders as well as acute medical patients
• Skills include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV therapy/phlebotomy, respiratory care with nasal cannula and oxygen administration, emergency response with rapid response/code teams, blood product administration, wound care, and isolation precautions
• Complete pre-start modules (up to 5 billable hours)
• Work in a 39-bed combined acute stroke unit specializing in evidence-based stroke care

This tertiary care hospital operates 528 staffed beds and features a specialized 39-bed Acute Stroke Unit that combines care for acute stroke patients, neurological disorders, and acute medical patients. The facility utilizes an adjustable acuity delivery of care model and focuses on providing evidence-based care to optimize stroke treatment during primary prevention and acute care phases. The hospital maintains comprehensive emergency response capabilities and advanced monitoring systems.
