Travel or local contract options; close-monitoring unit caring for non-ICU but high-acuity patients. Duration: travel assignments (typical 13-week) or local/permanent roles — confirm per employer. On-site, computer-based cardiac and vital sign monitoring; assist physicians and manage specialized equipment. - Current RN license (AL or compact)
- Minimum 1–2 years acute care or PCU experience
- BLS required; ACLS preferred
- Experience with cardiac/telemetry monitoring and specialized equipment
- Ability to work 7P shifts and handle frequent assessments
Full description
Responsibilities Progressive Care Unit RNs (PCU RNs) care for patients who need close monitoring and frequent assessment but aren't unstable enough to require ICU care. PCU RNs use computer equipment to monitor cardiac and other vital information. PCU RN job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Record patient’s medical information and vital signs
Prepare equipment and assist physician during examination and treatment of patient
Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients and interpret electronic displays to help guide treatment Shift: 7P
