This position is for a Travel Nurse RN specializing in psychiatric care, providing night shift coverage in an inpatient mental health facility in Holyoke, Massachusetts. The role requires at least one year of psychiatric inpatient experience, an active Massachusetts RN license, and skills in crisis intervention, therapeutic relationship building, and electronic medical records. The nurse will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support patient treatment plans and maintain a safe therapeutic environment.

Float Psych RN - Nights (11:00 pm - 7:30 am)
Location: Holyoke, MA 01040
Number of Weeks: 13
Shift Information: Night (11p-7:30a) (every other weekend/every other holiday); charge required (considered to be included in all-inclusive rate)
Minimum Years of Experience: 1
One year of inpatient psych experience required
Must be willing to float and take charge. (No multiplier for charge)
MA License required at time of submission
Responsibilities:
The
Registered Nurse (RN) is an active participant in the health care team who
provides direct and indirect care to patients/families/legal guardians. The
Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining a safe therapeutic milieu
grounded in TaraVista Behavioral Health Center core principles. The Registered
Nurse (RN) works collaboratively as a member of the multi-disciplinary
treatment team and contributes to each patient’s individual treatment plan by
helping develop, implement, and document appropriate goals and interventions,
informed by patient strengths and presenting psychiatric problems.
Qualifications:
Education: RN license within the State of Massachusetts required; BSN
preferred.
Experience:
Previous psychiatric / substance inpatient experience
preferred. CPR certification required. Restraint Reduction de-escalation /
crisis intervention experience preferred.
Skills: The successful candidate will demonstrate ability to use critical thinking to make decisions and solve problems; have an advanced level knowledge of Behavior
Health and Substance Abuse treatment modalities; applies nursing process from a
Trauma Informed Recovery model of care; ability to develop a therapeutic
relationship while maintaining professional boundaries; effective oral and
written communication; sufficient typing and computer skills to facilitate use
of Electronic Medical Record; crisis management, time management, delegating,
coaching and team building skills; and be flexible, creative and able to manage
stressful situations in a calm, organized and professional manner
