Job Details:

• Work 36 or 48 hour shifts with contracted hours guaranteed per week
• Patient ratio of 1:5 for days, nights, and weekends
• Weekend coverage required as needed (Saturday and Sunday for days, Friday-Sunday for nights)
• No on-call requirements
• Floating to Adult PCUs is expected based on staffing needs; floating to Peds ED is optional
• May float to ED Holding and Trauma areas based on experience
• Approximately 60%-80% of Emergency Department patients are admitted with many ED rooms serving as "ED Holding"
• Handle medication administration including IV medications following seven medication rights
• Document and communicate clinical findings using Cerner charting system
• Work with Level I trauma cases and manage high-acuity emergency patients
• 2 years of experience required (will consider 1.5 years); Level I Trauma experience preferred
• Travel experience strongly preferred, though 2+ years Level 1 experience may be considered for first-time travelers
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH, PALS, TNCC (must have TNCC before submission)
• Black scrubs required (not provided by facility)
• 24-hour orientation provided
• No locals within 75 miles accepted
• New Mexico license can be pending at time of submission
• RQI certifications not accepted
• Overtime must be pre-approved and is rarely granted
• Facility may call off up to 3 times during 13-week assignment

This comprehensive medical center is a Level I Trauma and Teaching Hospital with 554 total staffed beds, featuring a specialized Children's Hospital and serving as a Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center. The emergency department operates as a high-volume facility with 53 rooms and 68 beds, handling 170-200 daily census with approximately 175 visits per day. The facility provides extensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary services.
