Job DescriptionThe Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) is a critical care step-down unit dedicated to providing exceptional, evidence-based care to adult patients who require more specialized care than is available on a general medical-surgical unit. The RN will be responsible for managing patients with complex medical conditions and supporting a team-oriented, multi-disciplinary approach to patient care.
Responsibilities- Manage a patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7.
- Provide care for patients requiring continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring.
- Administer IV therapy and perform phlebotomy as required.
- Interpret and manage dysrhythmias; utilize Rapid Response/Code teams effectively.
- Demonstrate competency in nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management.
- Ensure adherence to isolation precautions and other safety protocols.
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in a similar setting.
- New York State RN license is required in hand for submission.
- BLS certification is mandatory; ACLS and NIHSS are preferred.
- Experience with EPIC charting system is required.
- Telemetry and critical care experience preferred.
