OverviewCentral Carolina Hospital in Sanford, NC is seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a travel assignment. The therapist will provide specialized respiratory care to patients with acute and chronic conditions, ensuring safe and effective treatment in collaboration with the healthcare team.
Responsibilities- Deliver respiratory therapy services to patients in accordance with physician orders and established protocols
- Perform patient assessments, monitor progress, and document care accurately
- Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and other respiratory modalities
- Manage and operate ventilators and other respiratory equipment
- Respond to emergency situations and provide airway management support
- Educate patients and families on respiratory care plans and equipment use
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
- Current Respiratory Therapist license in North Carolina (or eligible for licensure)
- Minimum of 2 years of recent respiratory therapy experience in an acute care setting
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Experience with electronic medical records systems; Meditech experience preferred
- Required Education: Associates degree in Respiratory Therapy or higher
Contract length: 13 weeks, with potential for extension
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Nights)
