DirectShifts is seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Emergency Medicine Physician to join our team in providing critical care to patients in the fast-paced environment of New York City emergency rooms.
Job Description:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with a wide range of acute and life-threatening conditions.
- Provide immediate medical attention to patients experiencing trauma, heart attacks, strokes, respiratory distress, and other emergencies.
- Perform rapid assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and initiate treatment plans.
- Stabilize critically ill patients and manage their care until they can be transferred to appropriate specialists or admitted to the hospital.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, paramedics, and other physicians, to deliver efficient and effective care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
- Remain calm and focused under pressure.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in emergency medicine through ongoing professional development.
Qualifications:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine
- Valid medical license in New York State
- Extensive experience in emergency medicine or a related field
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a high-stress and rapidly changing environment
