A Pediatrics Physician provides medical care to infants, children, and adolescents in a hospital setting, working varied shifts including days and nights. They manage patient loads that fluctuate seasonally, overseeing care in both general pediatric and pediatric intensive care units. The role includes collaboration with nursing staff and ancillary services to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Approximately 150-300 hours per month depending on staffing; AM1 shift (7A-7P), AM2 shift (8:30A-4:30P), PM (6:30P-7:30A)
Day shift (12 hours) or night shift (13 hours); in house for entire shift
Patients per shift- Summer: 10-15 patients, Winter: 15-20 patients. Patients are split between 2 attendings duringg the day.
33 Pediatric beds, 12 PICU beds
Fully staffed with Pediatrics RNs and PCTs, as well as ancillary services
