Essential Responsibilities:
Develop and oversee structured on-boarding program for new Hospitalist APPs.
Attend leadership and operations meetings as the APP representative.
Communicate updates, policy changes and operational priorities to the APP team in a timely manner.
Maintain up-to-date reference materials, policies, and standard operating procedures for the APP team.
Assist with recruitment, interviewing, and selection of new APP candidates.
Serve as the primary point of contact for escalation of APP-related issues, workflow challenges, or scheduling concerns.
Obtain medical histories when necessary.
Perform physical exams (within established protocol).
Diagnose, treat and monitor acute and chronic diseases (within protocol guidelines).
Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
Prescribe or recommend medications for prescription for medications and treatment (within protocol guidelines).
Responds to emergency situations in an appropriate manner.
Promote positive lifestyle habits to all patients through education and counseling.
Maintain patient's privacy and confidentiality.
Assist doctors with phone coverage and hospital rounds.
Work closely with other nurses to assure patient flow is efficient.
Support discharge planning and care coordination.
Consult with the supervising doctor regarding patient symptoms to assure proper diagnosis and plan of treatment.
Provide comprehensive teaching to patients and families.
Conduct relevant research.
Participate in unit rounds as needed.

Job Requirements
Required Education & Experience
- Master's degree in nursing or Physician Assistant certificate.
- 4 - 6 years experience as a NP/PA in an acute or primary care setting
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Prior experience precepting or mentoring APPs strongly preferred
- Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of TN
- Licensed as an RN in the state of TN/GA
- American Heart Association BLS
