Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring at least 2 years of acute care and telemetry experience with a valid TN or compact license.
Responsibilities
- Work on an acute care surgical and bariatric unit within a hospital setting
- Handles medical-surgical and telemetry patients with a patient ratio of 1:7
- Night shifts available with 3x12 or 4x12 hour schedules (18:30 to 07:00)
- Every other weekend is required
- Floating to other units is required
- Uses electronic modules and participates in general orientation starting on Sundays
- Participation in nursing student support and clinical education is expected alongside patient care
- General orientation includes online modules averaging 4-5 hours, to be completed on the first Sunday
- Shift may be cancelled or flexed based on hospital census without penalty
- First-time travelers are accepted
- RTO must be arranged prior to consideration
Requirements
- Active TN or compact RN license in hand at application
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg and Telemetry experience required
- American Heart Association BLS certification required
- Candidates must live at least 100 miles from the facility
- Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to comply with CDC fit testing guidelines
- Drug screening required 12-14 days before the start date
