The Manager - Anatomic Pathology oversees daily operations of the hospital's pathology laboratory, ensuring compliance, quality, and safety across anatomic pathology services including cytology and histology. The role includes administrative oversight of point-of-care testing and affiliated offsite areas, staff supervision, coordination with clinical teams, and continuous process improvement. Requires a bachelor's in medical technology (or related), 5+ years clinical experience with supervisory experience, and ASCP histology/cytology certification; MBA/MHA preferred.

JOB PURPOSE:
Under the direction of the Director, the manager oversees departmental operations of the Laboratory. Performs administrative duties including oversight and compliance of point of care testing and affiliated offsite areas. Monitors operations to ensure safe, efficient and quality performance standards for employees, patients and visitors. Collaboration with nursing, administrative, medical and other staff to coordinate patient care activities will be necessary to support the facilities mission statement, achieve customer satisfaction, and identify system problems as opportunities for improvement.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
- Bachelors Degree from a recognized college or university in Medical Technology or a closely related field is required.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Five (5) years of clinical experience, including at least two (2) years with supervisory responsibilities, is required, preferably in an acute care hospital setting. Demonstrated clinical competency in the specialty area applying for.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Management of Anatomic Pathology (Cytology/Histology):
- Certification in histology; certification as a Histotechnologist HTL, Histotechnician HT and/or Cytologist CT by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) required.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Master of Business Administration or Health Administration is preferred.
